Bird Hat Pattern
What will you need:
Yarn:
Red color – any yarn what you like weight 3
Dark yellow – Aunt Lydia crochet thread size 3
White, pink and black – Premier cotton fair yarn
Crochet Hooks:
3.75mm
Slicker Brush (optional). If you would like to have fluffy brows and pink belly’s spot.
Eyes
Plastic eyes 18mm
Synthetic fiber for stuffing
Some Super Glue (I use Gorilla)
2 red Feathers
Abbreviations:
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease

Do not count the chain stitch as a stitch at the beginning of round
When joining at end of round always join to the top of the chain stitch you began the round with
TIP: Always use smaller hook than it is written on yarn. That way we avoid big “holes” and fiber will not go out from toy.
Hat
Red color, hook 5 mm

Count 10 stiches from center of hat’s back to opposite side to make second earflap.
Attach yarn and make

Make all details with smaller hook, if you make hat size 0-1year old.

Attach black yarn
Round 7: 30 slip stiches on front loops only
Brows (make 2)
Black weight 3 (light) yarn, hook 3.25mm
Row 1: chain 16, in second 1sc, 14sc (15) turn
Row 2, 3: 15sc (15) turn
Round 3: 8sc, 1 sl st
Brush with slicker brush until it becomes fluffy, do not forget, that one brow is for left eyes and second for right.
Beak
Dark yellow yarn
Sport weight, hook 2,25mm
Round 1: 4 sc into magic ring (4)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x 4 (12)

Sew white part of eyes on body, glue plastic eyes and sew brows, brows go a little bit over eyes with wide side out (sew brows only on top and on sides of brow, do not sew bottom of brows). Before to stick in feather, glue it with super glue (that part what goes into toy).
